Greg Parr

Greg Parr has been a familiar face on the “music row” of Bleeker St. in Greenwich Village, NYC for about six years now. You may see him among many of New York City’s most popular and intimate spots and we are thrilled to have him as a Mainstay here at Blackstones.

“Well above Parr” is just one of the many things that can be said about the native New Yorker’s musical performance. A soloist on acoustic/electric guitar, Greg covers music spanning several decades, from the 60’s through to the present -- this is in addition to performing his own compositions. During a typical night he will play songs from groups as diverse as America to ZZ Topp, and by the third song, the whole crowd is singing and clapping along.

In addition, Greg is a New York City firefighter. In musician’s lore, that’s his “day job”. By his account, “…that’s my day & night job. It gives me a great amount of satisfaction, pride and purpose to be an FDNY Firefighter.”  He is a veteran of 15 years in Harlem at “The Fire Factory”, in 58 Engine, & Ladder 26. Greg was also actively involved in the rescue and recovery work at Ground Zero & many charity events which followed 9/11.

Audiences of all ages can relate to the Soulful Voice & Rhythmic Styling of Greg Parr.

Keep an eye & an ear out for him!
